Ghost dog.

Aww hell!!! I just spent 10 minutes figuring out how to post links to my favorite sites and then accidentally deleted all the entries. Crazy ass day.

I'm committing typing errors, I know it becasue I'm backspacing more than I'm typing. Yes. I have wine today. I'm enjoying an ice cold Ultra right now. I should be arrested for TUI. Bwaa-ha-ha! I am so funny!!!

I like Damien Rice. "O" is a great album. Listening to it now. Suits my mellowness right now.

We ate soooooo much. In my mad stumble to get out of here I forgot to take my camera. I wanted to get pics of the amazing food at Lefty's . Deep dish pizza w/spinach, mushroms, elephant garlic, sun dried tomatoes and a ton of fresh basil on top. Elephant garlic sliced sooooooooo thin just like in "Goodfellas". We ordered ahead of time b/c on weekends it takes over 90minutses to bake. So, when we got there we ordered a huge salad (their caesar is outstanding) and their loaded fries. We were both so hungry from the long, hectic, tiring and backbreaking Saturday. We didn't eat anything all day. OH wait! I did have some trail mix, some hummus with pita chips and chardonnay! But that was it.

I didn't have to teach spin today b/c the Gay Pride Parade shut down the downtown streets. They cancelled my class so I had a rare Saturday morning to myself. I thought I would go running instead or, GASP!, actually sleep in!!!

But, Nope. As usual, I was up at the butt crack of dawn as usual. Actually, I awoke thinking I heard Nick panting by my side of the bed. I was afraid to open my eyes. I didn't want to see a Nick ghost standing there! The hairs on my left arm were rigid. I thought I sensed his breath on my arm. I slowly opened my eyes and of course, no ghost dog. I felt both relief and disappointmetn. Ed didn't wake up until past 10 am. Lucky man.

I can't say that I've been very motivated about the house in the past 3 weeks or so. Which would explain the NINE loads of laundry!!! 3 of the loads were Nick's and it hurt. His towels, sheets and blankies. All bleached in scalding hot water within an inch of their life. I haven't been able to bring myself to wash them until today. Ed had reached his "second string" boxers, so I had to do our laundry to restock the first string knickers. (Victoria Beckham has got me saying knickers now!) I hate how Ed does laundry so I insist on doing it myself. He tried to tackle "Mt. Laundrymore" these past couple of weeks but I wouldn't let him. Kept saying I'd get around to it. Well, when I finally did today and it was brutal!

Between 6 am and 2 pm, I did 7 loads of laundry, dried, folded, put away, dusted, wiped all the baseboards and shelves of dust and crap, and moved all of our furniture out of the den/family area. Jose said if everything was cleared away for him he could finish in an hour. Ed bought a new computer this week (it's really awesome!) so he was busy setting it up. I checked in on him and saw he was soooooooooooo busy. Yeah, he was playing his Lord of the Rings computer video game. Harumph! Right about then, 11 am-ish, I enjoyed my frist glass. So delicious. I love weekends.

Ok, just switched to Arab/French. Khaled's album "Sahra". Sweet thumpin' bass. Damien Rice was beginning to mellow me out a bit too much. I still have pics to cut and paste you know!!!

JOse came over at 2 pm to steam and deep clean our carpets. I hate carpet. I much prefer wood or tile. Oh well.

Before: Nick's favorite little corner under the bar. His little blood stains. Fucking cancer.

after: Stains all gone now. Good job Jose.
We were leaving for Lefty's and CM looks lonely in the middle of the giant, damp room. Pooh birdie. :-( I gave him some crust when we got home.
Don't know why, but I want to post this pic now. I love it so much. Nick was shivering after his very last bath a couple of weeks before he left us. We covered him in his favorite turtle towel and he fell asleep curled up next to Ed. He looked like a little swaddled baby. I hated that the right side of his face was visible. I could see one of the cancer sores on his cheek and it was such a painful reminder.

Anyway, Ed did come out to vacuum the entire area to be cleaned. He helped me move the couch, sofa, and other large items. Poor CM was flappin' his wings around all freaked out. Once everything wsa cleared away he looked so tiny all alone in this giant room with only carpeting. So we moved him to the kitchen where we shoved all of our plants and chairs. I love plants. CM was not happy. Afterwards we brought him back out to the TV room.

Earlier in the day today, Ed is not pleased that he is unable to play computer games and watch the Yankees. Evil lady made him come out to vacuum and move furniture. The nerve of her!!!
I took a break around 1:00. As you can see below, all was ready for Jose to steam. With some pita chips, cilantro hummus(sorry Smileygirl!!!) and some more chardonnay, I channel surfed between the Cubs game (we lost!!!), the Bristish Open (why isn't it called the Scottish Open, that's where it is played!), and pro bowling (my highest score ever=43). I stacked up a bunch of crap over by the bay windows. Smart girl!

SD is so frickin' dusty. It's because it never rains out here. I can't believe how quickly dust accumulates in our house. A lot of it also kicked up by carpet I think.

I just changed to Amadou & Mariam. I have no idea what they're singin, but it sounds so beautiful. Haunting, especially "M'Bife Blues". There is an Ethiopian guy in my spin class who loves it when I use this song for our cool downs.

Dave at Lefty's could tell right away that I'd been drinking. Boy, I sound like a boozer in my blog! Ha! You'll be happy to know that I've now switched to iced green tea. I am not schlitzed, but I've had a nice, mellow buzz pretty much all day long. Sweet!

Hey, I'm so confused right now. How the hell do I get my pics to paste wehre I want them to go? Whenever I click on "add image" it puts my photos waaaaaaaaaaaaaay at the top of my blog. Sometimes I want to add a picture in teh middle of my blog, but it won't let me...or am I just doing it wrong?

A cop came into Lefty's for a slice tonight. Tall, healthy, fit and good looking. I remember copsy in Chicago and New York. Ha!!! Rotund, jolly fellows they were for the most part. I've lived on 3 different continents, traaveled and lived in 8 different countries, not to mention the majority of the U.S. states and cities, but nowhere are cops better lookin' and more fit than in So Cal! Jeezaloo!

when I first moved out here, I was crossing a street downtown but I was not in the pedestrian crosswalk. Out of nowhere a man in costume pulled up to me on a multiple gear Trek bicycle. Oh, wait a minute. That's not a costume! It's a police uniform! A police man on a bike? Actually pedaling the bicycle for his entire shift?!? Preposterous!!!

Well, not so preposterous out here I guess. I got a $147 ticket for jaywalking. Nice! Welcome to San Diego. I wanted to throw my watter bottle at his head when he pedaled away flexing his tanned, muscular surfer's legs. Thinking back now, his shorts may have been as short as Lt. Dangle's shorts from Reno 911. Tee hee.

Speaking of TV shows, anyone love Fligth of the Chonchords as much as I do. Funny as all get out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ed is funky "Rhyme-nocerous" and I am the "HipHopappotamus". Check out their video clips from the HBO show either at HBO.com or http://www.chonchords.net/ (unofficial site). HILARIOUS!!!

Remember how I set the TiVo to record any and all shows with keyword "Golden Retriever". Yeah, well, I need to go catch up on watching them.

Hey, Nick, you didn't send any doggies our way tonight for Lefty's pizza crust. I know, you wanted me to save it and bring it home for the Cap'n. He was more than happy to chomp on pizza crust on your behalf!

Hope you're sleeping tight up there my baby boy. Don't scare your mommy again tomorrow morning, ok? You know how much of a fraidy cat your mommy is. No more ghost dog Nick, ok? Good night Mr. Triangle Face.

I love that post. It's all over the place! Do you have ADD? Just curious. It made me laugh.

That picture of Ed and Nick is so precious. So sad to see the sore on his sweet face though. He was such a kind, gentle soul. I think the panting you heard is Nick coming to you in your twilight sleep. Sort of in between being awake and dreaming. That's when I tend to get my signs from spirits.

OH I LOVE how you started in on the wine at 11:00 am! That's totally us. Our blogs seem to have a similar theme...Pets and booze!! I love it!

Oooh, twilight sleep. I'l have to Google it. I swear, it felt so freakin' real!

So, yah, I had to start in on the wine at 11. Da Boy was driving me bananas! :-)

If you can imagine this from yesterday...in the corner of our computer room there is the computer (of course), a comfy chair, a 19" TV, a tub of lemondae and EDWARD. Yup, he was very, very, very busy. Not only were the Yankees on...Ed also had to help Aragorn save Middle Earth.

Meanwhile I was buried in dust, grime and sweat. Hell yeah it was time for booze! :-)

Here's to pets, booze and ADD! May they never cease to bring us joy!
