Circle of Life.

Most of my close friends have animals, which is one of the reasons why I love my friends so much. Anna lost her precious Bassett hound, Maddie, on January 15. Maddie was also a patient at VSH with Dr. Phillips, another one of their genius & compassionate oncologists.

Maddie had been with Anna for over 14 years. I feel bad right now because I'm forgetting exactly how old Maddie was when she passed away. Maddie was a sweet doll, a total girlie girl who always had a pretty scarf around her neck and loved anything French.

In June I took Anna for a birthday sushi dinner. She cried at dinner remembering Maddie. I didn't know at the time that in less than a month I would feel the same anguish.

Anna is the epitome of light and sunshine, and sometimes I don't know if her feet touch the ground when she walks, so it was hard for me to see her upset. Her hubby got her a chocolate Labrador Retriever puppy for her birthday. Anna has named him Chocolate "Moose". He will join Anna and her family in mid-August.

The circle of life is never broken. I can't wait to meet Moose the chocolate pup. :-)
