Cubs 7 and Padres 6. Sounds close, but it was not until the 9th inning, which is when Woody came in and saved the day when Adrian Gonzales gave me a heart attack! Whew!!! Zambrano never quite found his pitching mojo, but that didn't stop him from finding his batting mojo. He is just 250+ pounds of man-muscle-meat who just creams the baseball. We sat behind the left field line, which gave me a bird's eye view of Alfonso Soriana and all his ESPN awarded attributes. Sweeeeet!Another wonderful sports outing for Belov-Ed and I under the rug. Just got back from the game. An AWESOME time!!! Petco Park is 1.4 miles from my office garage, so we parked our car there and hiked it on over. (I hate paying $25 bucks for parking!!!) It is such a gorgeous walk through the historic Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego. It is a feast for all the senses, especially the nose since I can smell the crisp, salty ocean air. Love it.
Achilles & Milo have been staying with More Mommy during the weekdays since the house is demolished. Tonight they’re still over at her house since we got back so late from the game. They’re enjoying a sleepover. I know it has only been a few hours since I saw them last, but I miss them soooooo much. Totally weird to come home and not see their sweet golden faces.
My golden-hearted Lynney, may God bless her always with health and joy. (Amos & Katie too!) Amongst the bountiful blessings we have in our life, that little family is one of God’s rewards to us, for whatever good we may have done on this earth so far. Not that you should ever do something good in the hopes of simply getting something in return for it, but it still feels amazing to think that God (or whomever/whatever you believe in) is allowing your good to come full circle. And I’m not saying that just because of our Golden bond, but because of everything else we share and endure together.
Ok, don’t know how or why I totally got off track there, but I’m glad I wrote it. Back to my Golden babies….maybe I’ll get in an early morning run tomorrow and go by More Mommy’s house to give my sweet boys a kiss before going off to work.
Speaking of running, (back to the baseball game now), I taught my spin class at 5:45 am today, and then worked all day, then hiked 1.4 furiously fast miles to the game tonight, and then back to the garage. It has been one hell of a cardiovascular day!!! My legs are totally feeling it right now. Feeeeeeels goooooood. I love the feel of sore, tender muscles after a workout. It is such an ALIVE feeling.
Ok, seriously, back to the game now…we had the misfortune of sitting behind this obnoxious Padres fan...he kept this screaming and grunting up the ENTIRE game. I am not even joking. He was the Energizer bunny of obnoxious fans. He just kept going....
...and going.....
...and going....
...and then it was finally time for the beers to catch up with the Cubs fans! Ed had to hold me back from a wee bit of a confrontation, which didn't please him, *ahem*, but we won't get into that just now.... ;-)
Lucky for me, I didn't have to be too concerned with obnoxious fans. A.) We were winning. B.) I was with my love. C.) I got to stare at this every inning... Alfonso, Alfonso, Alfonso.
Before the game we met an Olden Goldie...meet Bubba! He is 14 years old and was out for his evening stroll. Couldn't help myself....I had to squish him with hugs. What a cutie pie! Check out the fuzzy toes!!! I can't help myself...I see dogs, ESPECIALLY GOLDENS, and I have to run over and introduce myself. Love, love, love, love them! After the game I was mauled with love and slobber. Meet 3 year old brother and sister, Rocco & Bella. They were two of the smallest Golden Retrievers we've ever seen. Ed thinks they weren't more than 40 pounds. I say closer to 50 pounds, but even that is still small! They wouldn't stand still for a photo, just kept jumping all over me. Rocco licked my eyeball and Bella scratched my neck. Yowzers!!! They were so friendly and excited. I'm lucky I wasn't knocked back into the street.
Woo hoo! Yah Baby! Number One!
Obligatory self-portrait before heading home....
We are going to be tiiiiired tomorrow. I don't care. It was a great day! Good night!

Great pics of you, KBL - you're very photogenic!
As for that one faa, oh my goodness. He is the POSTER CHILD for population control (at least in HIS particular gene pool....)
Took the kids to a hockey game not long ago and there was a fan just like that sitting behind us, yelling all KINDS of expletives. Even my kids were rolling their eyes at him.
Some people just don't get it.
Glad you and your Belov-ED had a nice evening out, and you got to "meet and greet" some new Golden Friends. :-)
How the heck did you not kick that guy in the chops? OMG that obnoxious yelling would make me crazy. I couldn't handle all that bellowing!
Loved the crazy Cub fans (yourself included!)
What fun for you! I am so glad that you had such a great time. I have to admit, I am not a baseball fan (it's a long story, and not in the blogisphere at this point) --but I am thrilled for you and your Cubs. WooHoo!
Great photos. I know what you are talking about with the obnoxious fans....can't stand them.
