Veterans Day is a Beautiful Day

It's a beautiful day. Ed said something this morning that echoed my thoughts, "It's days like these that make me not want to leave San Diego." Exactly!!!! We both have family and heart connections to our respective home regions, but there is truly nothing like winter in San Diego. We are blessed. We really are.

On my way to spin class this morning I was blown away by how beautiful the pre-dawn sky looked. Bright, clear midnight blue sky with every single star out there twinkling its little heart out. It was breathtaking.

Sun was just coming up as I left the gym. A soft breeze was blowing. We decided to take the boys to the dog park instead of to dog beach. They had a long workout on hills and at the lakes yesterday, so we wanted to take it easy. Sometimes we forget they're 8 and 13.

So, I fed my boys some warm brown rice with plain yogurt for a good boost of blood sugar. Then me and all my boys were off by 7:40.

We ran into Sally and Betty, two pretty Golden Retrievers who live on the "Golden Mile", which is a street by our house with four of these golden beauties. A & M love the golden girls! :-)

While at the dog park, Milo made sure he begged everyone for rubs, pets, scraches, kisses, anything. You'd think all we did at home was beat him or something. :-) Here he is accepting a massage from Tammi, who is Lucy's mommy, another Golden Retriever we ran into at the dog park.

Milo then made his way over to Joy. We met her and her two doggies, Sefira and Moses, today. Milo made sure he introduced himself and then grudgingly accepted some love. It's a rough life, isn't it Milo Bear?

A Golden sniffing chain. That's Milo's big booty. He's sniffin' Lucy's butt. Achilles is trying to steal a kiss because Lucy is awful pretty.
Ok, notice here that Achilles is receiving love and affection from his daddy. "Hold on! Hold the phones! I'm coming!", say Milo as he urgently trots over to make sure he receives his "fair" share of petting.
Milo wedges and wiggles himself in there and basks in the love and affection he so "rarely" receives from papa. Poor Achilles. He's probably saying, "Get my big buffoon of a brother off of me! I can't breathe. Help!" :-) I just love this picture. I'm going to frame it for my desk at work.

After about an hour of running around, sniffing butts and greeting the pretty doggie girls, Da G Unit begins to make its way home. You can pick out Milo by his J-Lo BOOTY. Get it? Mi-Lo and J-Lo? Ha! I'm so damned funny!!!

Following their papa up the street and home.

We were out walking for almost two hours with our boys. They just had breakfast and are CRASHED OUT. They'll nap well for sure.

As for our other boy, stay tuned for a story of how Captain Morgan went undercover last week. For now, my human boy and I are going down to the beach for lunch. My human boy is a proud veteran and deserves to memorialize this day with a couple of cold beers and some fish tacos down by the mighty Pacific Ocean.

To all our family and friends in Chicago and back east, don't hate us!!!! Just come visit us!!! :-)

Aren't they the cutest! Can't wait to see them. Did you get my message? Does January 28-Feb 4 work for you?? :) I'm so looking forward to seeing all of you.
I tried to post to another posting but it wouldn't take me so I'm trying on a different post.
