Dear Nick introduced me to a friend named Laura~
Who knows much of fauna but naught of flora.
Of the theater, screen, dance and ditty~
Hey! Who knew Chicago bred their gals so pretty?
A consummate golfer graces home with patience & love~

Endures furry chaos of which a lesser one would be sick of.
Crazed and deranged is her cat called Chumley~
Beware of his temper lest he treat you so glumly.
Let's not forget young and sprite who is her Wrigley~
So relieved are they, Mom didn't think of Wiggly and Piggly!
Dreams of adventure and travel in life's eras to come~
Anxious it may pass, unmapped, to beats of the relentless drum.
Seeks a truth that one restful life lived well, is better than none at all~
Requests her assurance from a prankster soul, in whom she remains enthralled.
An ode she did pen to her papa up on high~
So warm a tear did get her friend's eye.
He embodies an angel as her special day draws nigh~
Guardian of his sweet girl from the birthday sky.
