Hope it was a great one for one and all. As Valentine's Days go, this one will be in our Top 5 for all time for us, I'm sure of it.
My sweet Milo Bear got his sutures out today. Yay! I'll have to post pics of his "chicken leg". Dogs legs look soooo skinny with the fur shaved off.
After a bout with "devil's grip" this week (I'm not even making that up...I'm serious, Google it!), I felt much better today. Whew! I thought I'd be spending V-Day writhing in pain, but thank God, I was saved from the devil's grip. Hallelujah.
Took my puppies to the dog park for an hour and a half. Gorgeous morning. Returned home to a beautifully wrapped gift box....the Italian gold earrings on the inside were even more beautiful. Love my new dangly, shiny earrings. Love 'em!
I got earrings, he got a leather Barcalounger for his Man Cave. I'd say he's more excited for his gift. Ha!
Instead of going to mass tomorrow morning, we decided to go this evening. We were pleasantly surprised when the Father said he wanted all of the married couples in the church this evening to renew their vows together. Sounds sappy and cheesy, but it was SO romantic and wonderful, even though most of the couples in church were probably married 30+ years, and here we are working our 7th month. Wow.
We were supposed to get married at St. Brigid's before members of our respective families went bananas and we eloped....so, tonight, it was kind of like we really did end up getting married at St. Brigid's after all! Well, it was all romantic until the part where I didn't hear the Father correctly, so I repeated ".....And I promise to continue to love and honor you, to something, something, something, all the days of our lives...." The look on Beloved's face was worth money. Lots of it.
What!? I couldn't hear what the Father was saying and he was kind of mumbling as if he had macaroni in his mouth. :-)
I'm sorry, but my little feminist ass thinks there is nothin' better than having a man prepare a meal for you. It is positively luxurious. Delectable. I love the act!!! The menu? Chicken enchilada casserole!!!! Of course! And, no, I'm sorry, I yet again failed to sneak peeks and steal the recipe. One day I will succeed!
We saw "Taken" after dinner. Holy horses! Movie moves fast and Liam Neeson kicked some fucking ass. Great movie. Scares the shit out of me about having kids though.
Achilles is now pawing at my leg. He was some Valentine's Day attention now. I'm off to cuddle with my furbabies.....

Sounds like you had a spectacular Valentine's Day!! Yay! I've been worried about you, and missing you, so I'm doubly glad you posted tonight! Love ya, Sista!
I'm glad you & your furbaby are doing great!
What a wonderful V-Day! :)
Sounds like you had a wonderful day from start to finish!!! Awesome!
That is a beautiful gift, that you got to "get married" where your hearts had originally wanted to do so. And I love the "something, something, something...!" There is a movie in which the pastor is trying to say, "With all my worldly goods, I thee endow," but it comes out, "I dee & dough." And that's the vow the character makes.
One more of those stories: when my dad, who is deaf in one ear, was recieving the Eucharist (for one of the first times in his life), he received the basket of bread (in the pew), turned to Gregg and, instead of repeating, "The Body of Christ, broken for you," said "This bread's for you" and handed Gregg the basket! We HOWLED about that for days.
So glad that your furbabies, you and Ed are all well.
Dangly earrings, a Barcalounger, renewed vows, AND chicken enchilada casserole???!!! WOW! I'm surprised I didn't get a breaking news alert on CNN!!! :-)
Seriously sweet, KBL!
I'm so happy your Golden Boys are doing well too!
And the renewing of the vows doesn't sound sappy at ALL! We're doing a marriage series right now at church and I'm loving it. (In fact, if you and Ed want to check it out, the messages are all online - you can listen, download, or just check out the PDF's... www.12stone.com).
ANYWAY.
Congrats on a wonderful Val Day! Here's to LOVE!
I'm so glad you had such a wonderful day. You deserve it! You crack me up about the mumbling part in church!
So glad Milo is doing good, its got to be a huge relief!
Sounds like a wonderful day and thank goodness you got rid of the Devils grip.
I hope your vows were fun for you...I would have loved to be there for the "all the days of our lives" part....So cute.
Glad the baby is doing better. ;)
