Could it be?

That our life is returning to its old, boring, normal self? Why, yes, I think it is!

Last night was the first Saturday night, I think since March or April, that Beloved and I did what we used to do on a Saturday night. (No, not that! Dirty Birdies! Get your minds out of the gutter. That's for my other blog. *tee-hee*)

Anyway, what I was saying....before the Remodel of 2008, before the wedding plans and honeymoon adventures, before the family drama (which, sadly, still continues), and before 14 hour work days, Ed and I had our Saturday night dinner and movie routine down to a science. We'd go at least twice a month. Sometimes I'd complain that it was too predictable. All I can say now is, "Welcome back predictable!"

The theater is less than a mile from our house. There's a Greek cafe in the same strip mall, and we had dinner outside. We both luuuurve Greek salad. Then, I went to Starbucks, got a Green Ginger Tea with a Rice Krispies treat, just like I always used to. Ed got popcorn. I don't like theater popcorn. We saw Body of Lies with Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio. Great movie. Then came home and cuddled on our puppies.

I'm sad that I sometimes complained about how predictable our Saturday nights used to be. I missed our time together and didn't realize how much until last night. Our conversation and laughter over Greek food, priceless. I wish there was some way I could capture Ed's dry, wise-ass, witty humor. Never fails to crack me up and make watermelon seeds shoot out my nose. (Long story, but I will tell it someday)

I will never complain about predictability again. I love being with my best friend, my favorite person in the galaxy. It is a bonus that I'm also in love with his hot ass madness.

Now, if only our Sundays would return to normal again. It used to be filled with couch loungin', football, snacks, and loving on our furbabies. Sadly, I have to work today. :-( Huge case we've got going on at work and I have a monster load of discovery to prepare and serve by tomorrow. Wish me luck.

I had you in my Google Reader and didn't realize that you had changed your blog. I was just saying to Helen that I hoped everything was okay because you hadn't posted in a while and then, like magic, you commented on my post. So I followed you back (sneaky person that I am) and found your gorgeous new page. I love the red:)

We are off to the movies this afternoon - we're gathering anyone who likes Bond and hitting the mall (where they have the best theaters). If you want to make a quick jaunt over to NJ (and can get here by 3), we've got space for the fur babies and some great company!

I love routine. It makes life so nice and "neat" for me. Chaos makes me a bit loco.
Your Saturday nights sound JUST perfect!!!
Take care and don't work too hard.

This is a lovely post, KBL, and I'm so happy for you. Stress & drama are WAY over-rated, and for people in their teens and early 20's. Give me a quiet, predictable, peace-filled life ANY day!

I've had much drama in years past, and I can concur... it's no fun.

The sweet, low-key pleasures of home and husband (and furbabies!) are definitely your beacons in the storms of life!

Happy that things are getting back to normal for you, girl!

(And keep your chin up about the family stuff.... eventually it will all shake out....) :-)

Yay Yay Yay for predictable Saturdays again! It's about dang time. Your lives were nutso for so many months. Hopefully after your case settles you can have your predictable Saturdays AND Sundays back again soon. Although with the holidays coming that usually means chaos will follow.

Good luck with your case. KICK some ASS (again)
