Dog Tired

IS WHAT I AM.

I could barely keep my eyes open while walking my puppies tonight. Which was too bad because Achilles actually went aaaaalll the way to the park with Milo & I tonight. It has been a while since he's done that, but tonight he led the way.

Saturday I taught my spin class in the morning, then I went to the office for a while to get a bunch of discovery done on one of our largest cases. Saturday night was dinner & movie with Beloved. Yesterday I went into the office for about 9 freaking hours. On a Sunday. That pretty much sucked and blew chunks. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day and I was at work. *sigh*

When I got home last night it was almost 8:00! But, Beloved made dinner which meant my Sunday wasn't going to totally suck. He baked my absolute favorite dish EVER....chicken enchilada casserole. Mmmmm to the Efffing Mmmmmm! (He made that for me the first month we were dating and I almost licked my plate. No joke. I wonder if he would have still married me had I just up and started slurping at my plate?)

After dinner last night, I worked for about another hour and a half, then went to bed. This morning I was up at 4 am, and after spinning I went right back to the office at 7:oo. Worked my ass off to get all of our responses finalized, fact-checked, and served on the defendants. By 3:30 this afternoon I could barely keep my eyes open and the back of my neck ached horribly. As did my eyes from staring at the computer for eons. I know I'm tired when I have a cup of coffee at 4 in the afternoon and I feel nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Couldn't wait till 5 o'clock. I think it has been about 3 weeks since I've been able to leave the office at 5:00 and not sometime after 7:00. Drove home and had a GIANT bowl of chicken enchilada casserole. I stuffed my gob (as Laura would say) and plopped down on the couch. I just wanted to be a vegetable for a few minutes. I was soooo tired, but Milo and Achilles were staring at me so anxiously, so excited and expectantly that I couldn't bring myself to stay put on the couch.

I swear, at 6:00 this evening I would have paid someone $100 to walk my dogs! No joke. Did I mention I was dog tired? No pun intended?

Anyway, Beloved and I have this routine in the evenings. I start out on the walk with our boys. We're about a 15-20 walk to the dog park. Beloved is not a morning exercise person, so he prefers to go running after work. I hate exercise after work. I'm a total morning person.

Anyway, Beloved runs ahead of us and runs laps around the baseball/soccer field by the dog park until we arrive. He gets a couple of miles in, then he meets us at the dog park, we play with the boys, and then we all walk back home together.

Tonight I was so exhausted that I tried to take off on our walk before he got home so I could give the boys a quick walk and come back to lie down. But, Beloved actually got home early for a change, so off we were as a pack to the park. As I said, tonight was special because Mighty Achilles completed the entire trek with us. I was so proud of my senior citizen puppy. (Afterwards I felt bad for wanting to get out the door before Beloved got home. :-( I am a mean wife, huh?)

I'm going to sleep. It's not even 9 o'clock yet, but I don't care. I'm looking forward to a solid 8 hours. Good night my Blogistani peeps.

I don't know how you manage to function on a professional level after getting up at 4 am! You sure you don't sneak booze into your afternoon coffee??

Hope you're week settles down a bit. Sleep well and keep popping vitamin C. Don't get sick!

you do need your rest. You are such a good Mommy for walking them even when you are tired.....I am sure they love you for it.
Thanks so much for your advice on the bike butt issue. I am going to push through and ride again today.
You rock!!

Your doggies (and your hubby) are so lucky to have you! :-)

I hope you're feeling rested today. Be careful, you're gonna wear yourself out, and that won't be good for any of the boys in your house. Do something nice for yourself this week, like a massage or a mani/pedi. You surely deserve it!

Hey ya'll!
I woke up at 7 am and felt so refreshed! 9 1/2 hours of pure sleeping bliss. Mmmm. My puppies sleep right at my feet by my bed. I love how warm and loved they make me feel. Thank you all for the advice. Vitamins rock. Clementines were on sale for 77 cents per pound at Henry's, so I'm ready to devour some natural vitamin C. Wish I could share some with you all.

Karen, your comments warm my heart. I had good dreams, thank you. :-)

Ok, Laura, can you IMAGINE sneaking booze ino my afternoon coffee? Ha! It would have the opposite effect. My head would hit the desk in a sleepy, drunken stupor upon the first sip. But, it would be sooooo good. Once it hits my lips. :-)

Suz, bike butt = strong core and thighs, which are critical for you as a woman, since women are susceptible to lower back aches. Keep it up. YOU rock!

Ok, Happy, do you KNOW how much I've tried to get that damned recipe!? He won't allow me in the kitchen whenever he's making it. It's freaking TOP SECRET. I've tried to figure it out, but never can get it right. Boys. But, I won't complain as long as he makes it for me at least once a month. Yum!

Chitown, yes, I will definitely do something nice for myself. Fo' sho'. I've never had a mani/pedi. Not my thing. But, a walk on the beach with my baby? Ot dinner & drinks with friends? I haven't seen my Golden sister Lynne in forever. THAT will be my treat to myself. :-) Thank you!

Man, I am so BUMMED! I was hoping to cook Enchilada Casserole for my hubster!

Dang it!

Hmmm... well tell Belov-ED that Hubster, Happy, Diva, Ruby and our 2 (very well behaved) kids will just "pop by" some time for dinner (when I know he's making it).
:-)

So glad you're feeling refreshed!

Sleep is a glorious thing, is it not?! :-)
