Achilles & Mama

After all the Sunday morning excitement, Mighty Achilles Sweetface settles in for snooze.

Mama slept for 9 hours last night. Well rested and happy, Achilles decided to take her for a walk. He wanted to show her he's feeling better every day. Achilles, the show off, walked for almost 3 blocks! Wagging his tail and smiling at the neighbors, he returned home with Mama.

Lots of excitement early on a Sunday morning and he was ready for a nap, but it wasn't over yet! More Mommy Lynne stopped by to visit! Lots of massage and affection from his pretty blonde More Mommy. Achilles could feel all the love surrounding him.

Speaking of being surrounded by love, a package arrived for Achilles yesterday! All the way from Orange County, his old stomping grounds. Auntie Laura had baked some yummy-in-the-tummy cookies for Achilles. Wrigs used his little paw to write a note to his bud:

" DEAR AKILLEEZ, MOMMY TELLS ME U R HURTING. PLEEZ GET BETTER SOON AND COM TO MY HOUS AND SHOW ME HOW TO SNEAK COOKIES OUT OF PANTRY?! YOU R MY IDOL. I LOVE U LOTS. - WRIGLEY"

Always the professor, Achilles will have to teach Wrigs how to spell in addition to raiding the pantry. While munching on delicious Auntie Laura cookie, Achilles saw another tiny, little note in the corner of the card...gasp! It's from Chumley! It said:

"Achilles, the human informed me that you're not feeling very well. I have never sent a Dog a get well card before because I hate dogs. But, I also hate to see dogs not feeling well. So get better fast. (And then destroy this card.) - Chumley"

Now, normally Achilles would not have told anyone about Chumley's card, but he knows what a bad rap the poor cat gets around Blogistan, so he wanted to prove that that Chumley is a VERY GOOD BOY. He really, really is. Mama says he's just "misunderstood". THANK YOU AUNTIE LAURA! THANK YOU UNCLE TOM! THANK YOU LIL BRO WRIGS! THANK YOU CAT PAL CHUMLEY!
After a sprite walk, a visit from More Mommy, some cookies from Orange County, a breakfast of kibble, chicken breast and lamb shank (thanks to Zorba's!), and some Mommy Massage time, Achilles is finally able to take his nap. Achilles looks over to Dad and thinks to himself, " Thank God that Dad's got Milo distracted watching the Yankees game, otherwise that big Oompa-Loompa might come over and sit on my head!" ;-)

Tomorrow, Achilles will be back with More Mommy and More Daddy for the day. Here's a picture that More Daddy took of Achilles. More Daddy knows that Achilles loves to sit in the shade with breeze flowing through his fur.
Achilles wants Blogistan to know that he's feeling better and better every day. He appreciates all of the love and prayers. He especially wants to say "Hiiiiii (wink, wink)" to the pretty gals from Texas, Molly and Tess, whose loving human, Adam, was kind enough to email Mama some thoughtful words.
