I used the Halloween party invitation that Sue sent us as one of my entryway props...so cool, isn't it? Skeleton cowboy!
When the trick or treaters come to the door, both Laverne and Shirley think it is THEIR chance to get a treat. It was just too damned funny!
Happens every time... but one time I threatened to fight a little kid...find out why-
They are just so pretty with their colorful necklaces!
Milo D. Bear didn't bother getting up at the sound of kids gigglin' and squealin'. Made me sad because it's a sign he's getting old. When we first adopted him he was 9 1/2 years old and compared to these days he was practically puppy like. :-( He used to run to the door for ever trick or treater.
Earlier today he basked in the plentiful pets and affection being doled out by fellow Golden lovers.
We saw soooo many Goldens all dressed up for Halloween. Look at the right of this photo and you'll see Golden Octomom! She stole my idea from last week! Ha ha ha!.
There was a Golden Lion-she won an honorable mention.
I didn't dress my Golden kids, but they stole my heart in their pretty, colorful necklaces-
What do you see in this picture below? Yes, it is Laverne. But what else?.....a waistline! Wahoo!!! Laverne has lost another 5 pounds and she is actually beginning to look like she has a figure again!!! About 15-20 more pounds to go and she'll be healthy and good. Shirley Bug also lost 3 pounds, but she only has 6 more to go to reach her ideal weight.
Milo sported his debonair doggie paw scarf. I have one in EVERY color. That's not a joke! I wear them too. He makes my heart swell with pride and love.
My boy! :-) I love his sugar faced mask.
Poor thing has a growth on his tail that we're monitoring, praying it won't be a cancerous tumor. Our vet doesn't think it is, which is reassuring. For all of my Blogistani friends out there who are vet techs, how about that bandage job? Eh? Pretty ghetto lookin', huh? He wouldn't stand still for me to wrap it!
When Achilles died, we found friends in Italy who responded to our grief with compassion and kindness. Simona and Marco had two Goldens (Paco & Milo), and Paco sired a litter of puppies, one of which was a boy. Simona named him Achilles in honor of my departed Sweetface. Ever since then we have become Blogistani friends, and now we have become real life friends. They kept one of Paco's babies, so now they also have 3 Goldens...check them out on my blogroll!
Simona and Marco are vacationing in San Diego all the way from Italy, and I had the honor of meeting them in person at Sue's party last week. They were at the Golden Halloween Party today as well. Marco and Milo forged a special bond, maybe because Milo knew that Marco has a Milo pup of his own back home in Italy!
They are such a sweet and lively couple, they just savor life as if it were a fine meal. It's so energizing being around them.
Milo made sure he whiffed his pom-pom of a bandaged tail in Marco's face as much as possible, demanding his butt be scratched.
I won Best Female Costume last week...guess who won for Best Costume today? Go on. Guess. Yup! Golden Octomom! I was cracking up at the diaper bag. Her babies were all stuffed animals. Ha ha ha heee heeeee!!!!
In the lower right hand corner of this picture, you'll see that Norman, a fellow Golden pal, is sporting a WHITE SOX T-SHIRT as his costume. Grrrr. He is lucky he is Golden Retriever. ;-)
Golden Octomom gettin' her hurr did for the costume parade.
Behold, nature's phenomenon, otherwise known as SUE!!!! She has been going non-stop since last week. Hell, she's been going non-stop for 2 months. She put together the most amazing baskets for the raffle and the costume contest. Plus she fed all of us! Plus she ran the costume constest! Plus she tallied all the votes! Plus she made sure we all had name tags! Plus she made sure to get a group shot of us! I could go on and on. She is an energizer bunny. THANK YOU SUE!!!
Kidding!
Hope you're all having a safe, fun, and frightful Halloween!

Wow, that Golden party looks like more fun than I have had in a while!! I love the octomom Dog..so darn cute.
Your babies all look happy and sweet...that Laverne must be feeling sassy losing some weight. Nothing makes a girl feel better than trimming down a bit.
I love that you have blogistan friends all the way from Italy come and visit. SO cool.
Take care...Hugs,
Suz
Girlfriend, you are too kind! Thank you for all of your compliments! I'm blushing as I'm typing!
It was great to see you and the furbabies, and I look forward to getting together again SOON!
Love and hugs to you all!
I went back and re watched the videos...my girls would have laughed at someone saying they would fight them for their dog...cause that is WHAT I WOULD SAY TOO. :) You are too funny.
You are the best Golden Mom! I love your stories about your Goldens and their get-togethers. It's so good to see creatures being loved and well-cared-for in this world. Thanks for sharing the fun with us.
