Water balloon fight....

...without the water balloons.

We were getting ready for work this morning. Achilles and Milo were dropped off at Lynne & Amos' for the weekend because we're going on our Catholic retreat. Wish us luck!

(Actually, just wish me luck that I don't blurt out something inappropriate or dissolve into helpless fits of giggles and snorting when we have to sing "Kumbaya" or "Greatest Love of All" to each other. Bwahahahah!!!!)

Anyway, as I was saying, we were getting ready for work. One thing led to another and I couldn't take Ed's teasing anymore. (He is forever teasing me about one thing or another.)

So, I picked up a spray water bottle that we use for ironing and slowly took a few steps back. I prayed for courage and then....

..SHOT squirts of water at his head and his work shirt. He looked absolutely stunned. (I wish there had been a video camera rolling!)

Then I RAN for my life.

Tried to make it to the bathroom and lock the door before he could catch me, but I failed.

He caught me and proceeded to spray water DOWN the back of my shirt and in my hair.

As I felt the icy cold water sliding down my back and into the wasteband of my pants, I desperately tried to wrestle the bottle from him. At this point, Captain Morgan was going nuts squawking and flapping his feathers. He is mortally terrified of the water bottle. (We don't know why.)

Laughing, struggling, spraying, and screaming, we finally called a truce. After all, we were running late for work.

BUT, of course, I just couldn't help myself. As he stood at the counter gathering his keys and stuff, I slowly brought out the water bottle. AGAIN.

Quickly shot him in the cheek, hair, neck and jacket, then turned and tried to make my escape.

I failed. Let's just say he got his payback and then some.

Now, I am sitting in my fancy little office with damp clothes. I just noticed there's streaked mascara on my left cheek.

What a way to start the day! I think the Catholic retreat people need to know about this blasphemous behavior. This is unacceptable in the realm of Catholicism, as is most everything else. You Heathens!!!

Awww, Chitown. I understand. It's not easy, but know that you have us and all that is beautiful in your life. Your true love has yet arrived. :-)
