Ed came up with that name for the Easter bunny on the first Easter we were together. (Remind me to someday tell you about Santa Claus' Muslim buddy, "Mullah Claus". Tee hee! :-)
Anyhoo, the Eid-Ster Bunny visited our humble abode again this year. He left lots of chocolate goodies for us, honey oatmeal cookies for our Golden boys, and of course, corn chips for Captain Morgan. We hunted around the house for our Eid-Ster baskets. Ed is always much better at hiding my basket. I can never find it quickly enough, I get frustrated, and then I demand that he tell me when I'm getting warmer. On the other hand, he finds his basket in no time! Grrr! This year we both hid each other's baskets under some coats on different chairs in the house, but for some reason it took me FOREVER to find mine!!!
Ed has had this Easter basket since he was about 3 or 4 years old. It still has the original fake grass. You see that little card with the sailboat attached to the left side? Well, his neighbor, Mrs. Russell, gave that to him in 1979! Still hangin' in there attached with some pipe wire.
Every year since we began dating, for Valentine's Day I've purchased the baseball package on DirectTV for Ed so he can watch all of his Yankees games out here on the "left" coast. This year I printed out clear labels with all of the Yankees' games and start times and put them on the calendar. If you look closely, you'll see that home games are in blue and away games are in red. The Boston games are all highlighted, since that's when I know he'll be in a SOUR mood. The calendar has pics of our Golden babies and our fine feathered Captain, four different pictures for each month.
Ed got me this Eid-Ster basket our first year together. This year the Eid-Ster Bunny got me all of my favorites from Trader Joe's! Dark chocolate covered blueberries, TJ's Peanut Butter Cups (ohmigod they are sooooo good!!!), and dark chocolate pretzel bits. YUMMMMYYYYYY!!!! Seeing as to how I still have one box of TJ's candy cane cookies from Christmas, I'm going to be set for the rest of 2008!
An absolutely BEAUTIFUL day. Woke up to clear blue skies with puffy white clouds. A little on the warm side, but nevertheless, a beautiful day. We went to Easter mass at 7:30 this morning. It was a peaceful experience. I lost a bet that a woman had purple hair, but Ed said that it was a hat. After mass we literally RAN over to the other side of the church to see, and sure enough, the old lady had a tight hat of made up of silk purple flowers. Who would've guessed!? Since I lost the bet, I had to wash Achilles and Milo's breakfast bowls. Pffft.A long Eid-Ster walk to the park with our Golden babies was called for. We took water bowls, tennis balls, treats, and lots of poopie bags, and we were off. Spent an hour playing, sniffing, and walking around. Now they're dozing off at my feet. God, I love my doggies soooo much. Right now a wave of affection for them just washed over me and I just want to eat them up!
I'm off to visit Mommy and Bobo. Happy Eid-Ster everyone!

What an absolutely perfect day!
Happy Eidster to you too! I wish our day was a little too warm - we did BBQ stuff for dinner to fit with our activity of picking our fantasy baseball teams. Very cold out there after the sun went down! But I came away with a pretty decent team:)
There was no doubt that I felt a connection with you and your Belov-Ed, but to find that he is a Yankee fan- it all became clear...

It sounds like the perfect day! including the weather, not so warm out here on the east coast but at least we didn't get snow like Chicago! Yeah baseball is finally here!!!
Opening day for my Cubbies is in just a few days, and all they keep talking about in local sports news is what to do about the snow that's predicted to hit us this week!! Gotta love it!
