Bath Time

"Hello Blogistan! Milo here. There goes that Crazy Mommy Lady with her camera again!

It was our first ever bath at Noah's Ark in Pacific Beach with that Mommy Lady and that Daddy Guy. (No more nasty visits to the groomer's! Yipee!)

Mommy told us that our brother (who is in doggie heaven right now) used to love coming down to Noah's Ark for a bath, and then they'd all go to Charlie's Grill for some yummy lunch on the patio.

Daddy gave me my bath while Mommy took care of my older brother, Achilles. I have lots of fluffy fur and Daddy had to rinse me lots and lots. I liked it!
Mommy said Achilles' "wet Golden afro" was too cute to pass up a picture....

...pppssshaw! Whatever. I'll have you know that I sport the BEST wet Golden afro around! I also like to wiggle my eyebrows. It makes my Mommy laugh. :-)
(I bet Achilles can't wiggle his eyebrows. Humph. )

Oh wait...now Achilles is pawing at the keyboard. He's fightin' me for it! This could get ugly. Hold on..."
(Insert here the sound of two Golden brothers tussling, shoving, and pushing each other over control of the keyboard...)

Ahem. (Throat clearing.)

"Ahoy there! Achilles here. How are ya Blogistan? I had to wrestle the keyboard from my little brother. Sorry ya'll had to be party to that little brawl. I didn't hurt him much. I'm sure he'll live. Sometimes little brothers just need to be shown their place, ya know what I'm sayin'?....

Anyways! Contrary to what Milo says, my Mommy thinks I have the cutest wet tub face.

I personally think Milo looked like a giant FLUFF of cotton candy after his blow dry. Look at that 'fro!
Whereas my lustrous and wavy golden curls were handsomely accentuated by my Daddy's blowdrying technique. (I have to admit though, the blow dryer did tickle my face a bit. Tee hee.) :-)

I am also very smart you see. Whereas I positioned myself perfectly at our table at Charlie's Grill (in the event an errant delicious morsel (or two) made an escape from Mommy's plate)....
...little brother Milo rather foolishly parked himself under the table. That little guy never learns!

Mommy and Daddy fed us some yum-a-licious grub at Charlie's and then we were treated to peanut butter frozen yogurt! Wow! I've never had that before. It was great! I hated to share with Milo, but Mommy gave me her "sharing" lecture. (Pffft. Boooring) Oh, and I got to lie down on Nick's towel blankie. It was so nice and soft.

Here's a picture of our brother, Nick, on the same towel blankie. I'm sure he would have shared his towel blankie with me if he were still here. Mommy and Daddy called him their little Mr. Triangle Face. What a silly name!
There's goofy little bro hanging out with Daddy. Tell me you don't think he's goofy looking too!
Here's the Grand Goofball himself trying to help Daddy drive!
Mommy made him sit down and told both of us to "settle down!" even though I didn't do nuthin'! (He's ALWAYS gettin' me in trouble.)

We had a great bath and treat day. We even helped Mommy and Daddy meet new friends from some place called 'England', Helen & Mike. They had funny accents and gave us lots of rubs and pets. Milo and I would like to visit 'England' so we can hang out with Helen and Mike. They have a retriever named Tuffy that we can play with on the beach in 'England'. How neato!

We are both nice and clean now for Wrigley's birthday party. Time to take a nap now. Mommy's going to be home from work soon to check on us, so I'd better get off her computer...

Ok, bye-bye for now Blogistan! Oh, and Milo says bye-bye too!"

They are both soooo good for their baths! What do you do, drug them? Ok we need to hire you guys out for Wrig's baths.

Achilles and Milo:
You both are such beautiful boys and we're getting excited for Saturday. You guys are going to have a lot of fun and be prepared for some surprises! Oh and Achilles, I may just have to leave the pantry door open so you can show everyone your disappearing cookie box trick. I have a feeling that's the first place you'll go when you get here!
Can't wait to cuddle you guys!

Love,
Auntie Laura.

Aren't they?! Although Milo kept trying to climb out of HIS tub so he can come over to where I was by Achilles' tub!

Achilles was actually a little nervous, but the woman who owns Noah's Ark is amazing and knows a lot about holistic medicine. She rubbed a drop of lavender oil on his ear and put a couple of drops on his tongue, and Achilles settled down in about 5 minutes. He was so nice, so calm, and so good. My little Sweetface.

Going to Noah's Ark really saves our backs. I remember bathing Nick at home sometimes and the constant bending, shifting, lifting and stretching was havoc on my lower back. The tubs here are chest high and really deep, so it forces the dogs to stay put and makes it easier for us to wash them.

They're both excited for the party and can't wait for the treats! Sounds like you're a shakin' and bakin' fool today!

Such beautiful pictures. Looks like a great time was had by all. Is Noah's Ark a public bath house for dogs? Never heard of such a place here on the East coast.

Hey Teach, hello!

Yup, that's exactly what it is. Here's the website:
http://noahsarkpetwash.com

Click on the photo gallery and you'll see lots of great pics of the place and various dogs. There are 6 tubs, you get shampoo, towels, all kind of grooming tools, hand dryers, industrial blow dryers, and a sit-in dryer.

There are lots of public dog washes, but this one is our favorite. Plus, it's within walking distance of beach restaurants so we can sit out on a patio and have lunch afterwards. It's really pretty neat.

Are you sure there aren't any out there? They should have them! There's also places for cats out here!

I wish there were places like that around here within walking distance. Course I wish there still wasn't snow on the ground too. They look sooo handsome now!

PS~I did an update on my blog but Priscilla was adopted a week and a half ago :)

I have never heard of such a place! It's a great idea, though the idea of me bathing one of my cats has visions of my slit jugular and trips to the emergency room!
