Caffeine, the friend and enemy

My profile doesn't lie. Caffeine is a two-faced evil being. It gives me the tizzies. One part friend and one part enemy. Tonight it was my friend b/c I needed the jolt. I was so tired, but I knew I had to prep for the tailgate tomorrow. It is now the enemy. I can't fall asleep even though I'm dead on my feet.

Friend caffeine helped me deal with the cupcake disaster of 2007, which was not pretty, but still a prom queen compared to the cupcake tree fiasco of 2005. Cupcake disaster of '07 consisted of mascarpone exploding out of each cup, blue icing in the tube busting a seam because my self-fashioned nipple for the pastry bag was shitty, and everything being dirty and overwhelming while Belo-ED napped away on the couch. Thanks baby! I ended up having to make another batch of cupcakes because the first was a disaster. I don't care that I couldn't make the writing in calligraphy format, so here' s the finished product. Ta dah!

Ta Dah! This was the cupcake mess left behind for me to clean at 11:00 pm.
At 11:20 began two kinds of homemade turkey burgers for the tailgate. On the left there is the stuffed cheesy Italian burger with sun-dried tomatoes and mozzarella sandwiched within the meat. On the right is the onion burger. Prepped and made patties for tomorrow until 12:30 a.m. and then cleaned up. There were THOUSANDS of dishes!!!
Since I couldn't fall asleep, I then put up the garland and lights at our bar. Took FOREVER because it's plastic and wire. Had to straighten all the crap and arrange it to look nice. You can see our tree reflected in the mirror.
So, that leads me to right now. Done with everythign I need to do for tomorrow's game. Can't fall asleep though!

Hey, on a random note, I am seriously LOVING Jay-Z's American Gangsta album. Wow!

Just had to get that off my chest. I'm going to try and fall asleep again...good night!!!
