Just ONE more day for the ONE ring.

Ok, so it took my breath away.

I've always wanted a ring like it. I figured if I never received it I'd eventually buy it for myself at some point in life. I am so in love with its clean, fluid lines and the modern finish. There are fourteen diamonds in a double flushed row set just perfectly into the gold. The gold is 20K and so solid and heavy. I love the deep golden color of higher carat gold. I actually saw the ingot of gold before it was melted down to cast into my band. The weight feels so substantial and at home on my hand. Feels good. Our names are engraved on the inside with a sideways 8 at the ends, or the infinity symbol, depending on how you look at it. There is also an Old English scroll on the squared off bottom with opposing diamonds on each side.

I know it sounds unusual, but I've never dreamed of a solitaire engagement ring when I'd dream of such things. I don't really like a high center stone setting on a thin band. It doesn't good on my chubby fingers. Women with delicate, long fingers wear those styles best. That's not me! Ha!
You know, I don't even know right now if I even want a wedding band. I'm perfectly fine with wearing this ring as both, but Ed thinks I should still get a band. We'll see.

It was presented in a gorgeous wooden box stained red with a creamy leather lining inside. I loved the box too! How fitting.

Speaking of fitting, my ring was a "tad" too tight on my "nub", which is what Ed calls my finger since they're so short. (I think he says it affectionately. I think.) I had what Ed calls a "finger gut", in that the ring was tight enough that my finger was muffin-topping it around the edges. Does that draw a clear picture for you? Hee hee.

So, I have to wait ONE more day for my ONE ring. Jenny is going to call me as soon as it is ready. She's also going to take a picture of the ring so I'll post it as soon as I get it.

I was riding so high from that last night. We walked our golden boys and I told them all about my ring. They were very interested. A & M are such beautiful souls. They're such goofballs. I haven't posted pictures in a while. I'll have to get on top of that.

Milo gave me the scare of a lifetime last week. He went tumbling down a steep hill in the dog park, all head over paws. I was terrified he'd broken his legs or something. Both of them are so curious and will sniff and follow something into an abyss if I let them. He was chasing a little dog that ran down the side and he decided to go right after it. He's not very coordinated. Poor thing.

He is a chaser of cats, racoons, little dogs, and other such creatures. I'll have to remember to warn Lynne about that. She and Amos are watching our babies beginning this Thursday. Their house is a dream house perched on a canyon. I don't want goofballs to go chasing or exploring down there. Who knows what they'll get themselves into?

Anyway, today is going to be one anxious day as I eagerly await the arrival of the ONE. Hee hee.
