(Now, Tuesdays, well that's a whole other story. I'm not a big fan of Tuesdays.)
Mondays are even better when it is a holiday, like today, Columbus Day! For as long as we have had dogs, we have enjoyed all the Mondays in a year that we have as holidays...MLK, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, and sometimes even 4th of July or Veterans Day. Because it is on these Monday holidays that we have the opportunity to give our pups mini "doggie vacations" and let the house rules kind of fall by the wayside.
Like when we get them burgers from In-n-Out or Carl's Jr.....mmmm, they love 'em. Last night they each had a Carl's Jr. burgers, plain, just meat and bread. I don't know if Laverne & Shirley have ever had burgers or not, but last night they nearly ate Ed's fingers with the burgers. Careful!
Papa went Greek and had the french fries the pups didn't get.
We would have gone down to the Little Italy Fest today in honor of Columbus Day, but after my run yesterday I was more in the mood for something more close to home. Plus, I don't think either of us were ready to attempt to steer 3 Goldens through a crowd of folks.
Instead, Laverne enjoyed her first taste of beef brisket...

...and Milo & Shirley made sure they got their share. Ok, maybe Shirley was trying for more than her share!

Then it was picture time! Papa had to take a deep breath and pray for patience while Mama positioned and repositioned the family for all the obligatory portraits.

While on vacation in Newport, RI, we finally found collars & leashes that "matched" Laverne & Shirley. Here they are, Milo's Naval Academy "Goat" leash, Laverne's festive nautical sea green/blue leash, and Shirley girlie's pink beachy leash. It totally matches their personality. You have to be a dog person to know what that means!
Who is THAT pretty girl???? Staring at her own reflection, a favorite past-time of Shirley Bird's.

Off to run errands....first stop, buy a new cartridge for the printer. Patiently waiting for Papa outside of Cartridge World...

Next stop, Petco, where the 3 Golden Gremlins shamelessly trolled for treats and free pettting favors.
They want to live in Petco.

Patiently waiting for Mama while she ran into Michael's Nursery & Crafts.

Final stop, the beach shoe store. Once again, like Good Golden Gremlins, patiently and sweetly waiting for Papa's return.
Shamless beggars at Petco---
Like all good holiday Mondays, they have to come to an end. Time to go home!
Who says you have to have a little dog in order to take them places with you? With a little training in dog wrangling, leash detanglement, treat bribery, and never-ending patience, YOU TOO can take your giant dog triplets out with you for lunch and errands. Ha! :-)

All in all, a very good MONDAY. "M" is also for movies, so here are a few short ones:

Your comment today cracked me up...you are such a hoot.
YEARS ago, when I only weighed 95-100lbs I was always getting called Goldie Hawn. Now? Not so much, so thank you my friend!!!
Happy Monday to You and all the Goldens... and Ed too.
Looks like you all had a great one!!:)
When I die, I think I'd like to come back as one of YOUR pets. XO
Oooooo, I am in ♥ with those sweet dogs! How did I get the little word bubbles? I use a FREE program called PhotoScape. Just google it and download. You will find all sorts of goodies you can play with. I've had it for at least 6 months and I still don't know all it can do (I should be more nosey☺) It is free with NO strings or ads just a lot of fun. Try it! If you run into any problems, just let me know. I'd be happy to help.
I am with Karen. I want to either be one of your dogs or one of my sister's cats in my next life...
