Aaah, America, Happy 4th of July.
I hope that all my Blogistani brothers and sisters are enjoying this day surrounded by love and family and friends.
We are winding down after a brutal few weeks of work, work, work, and more work. I am actually going to go in to work for a few hours even tomorrow. We have our largest case going to trial in mid-August and it has been incredibly stressful and busy. It's no fun working weekends and evenings, but here't to it paying off in the long run, right?
Monday will be one month already that Achilles left our home. One of the blessings of being so busy with work is that it doesn't allow me energy to dwell, but it doesn't help the pain in my heart. I miss that sweetfaced boy so very much. Milo has been morose, which we kind of expected, but we didn't expect it to last this long. We finally caved in and took him to the vet yesterday. It has been a month since Achilles left us, but Milo still searches for him, he's not eating very well, if at all, and he is not his usual self in many other respects. We are worried for him and I hope that all of his lab results and tests come back normal.
Normally we would be entertaining and partying with our beloved friends on a holiday like today, but we are just both so tired, so we're taking it easy. We'll walk Milo to the park later on tonight to see all the fireworks. We have a bird's eye view of the fireworks over the bay, the ocean, downtown San Diego, Sea World, and even Mexico (if the sky is clear). Yeah, the dog park has the billion dollar view of the county!
Happy 4th of July to everyone!

And give special cuddles and kisses to Milo from us!!!!
We love you!!!!!!!
And don't work too much ok???
;-)))))))
Sweet kisses and licks!!!
Happy fourth to you guys. I have my fingers crossed for Milo and for you and Ed, as well.
I think what Milo needs is some quality time with his cousins...
We've got a couple of get togethers coming up. One this Wednesday evening, for some park play and dinner on a big dog friendly patio...maybe give it some thought?
Hugs to all of you!
And happy 4th to you, my friend! I know 4th of July is special to you and FREEDOM is very sweet to you because of your childhood and what you endured to come here, so I hope you and Ed (and Milo) had a nice relaxing 4th with lots of REST. And little to no STRESS.
:)
And yes, I will try to watch the Good Eats episode on yogurt and let you know and then hopefully you'll grace me with your family recipe. :)
I'll let you know when I'm ready.
PS: You would be proud - we were gone for 7 hrs yesterday to a 4th of July pool party/cookout/neighborhood fireworks extravaganza and Diva & Ruby were "model citizens" - no destruction! (Candidly, I think they were scared $hitless from the fireworks and were probably cowering in the upstairs hallway, clinging to one another in terror! Too SCARED to destroy!) LOL... poor babies!
Give Milo a hug!
Happy weekend to you...even though you are working. Glad you are all doing ok and I hope Milo starts to get his mojo back soon...heartbreak is tough to get used to.
Hugs, Suz
Happy 4th of July to you!
Hug and kiss Milo for me.It's so sad. He really probably expects Achilles to return. When I put Hootie and Baby Rocket Dog out in the outside kennel they seem to wait at the gate the whole time I'm gone. :>(
