Sleeping Seated

One of the most difficult things about the remodel this year was the fact that our backyard was completely torn and dug up. Achilles absolutely LOVES to lie out in the cool grass out back. No one was happier than my sweetface when we finally landscaped the yard again. Lucky for him he lives in San Diego because I don't know what he'd do if we lived in a cold weather city.

On the weekends he is out there ALL DAY LONG. He comes in to eat, maybe to check in on us every now and then, but other than that he's outside. He gets such joy from simply lifting his head to the sky, letting the breeze ruffle his fur, and sniffing all the scents of life.

Today I caught him sitting up by the patio with his head nodding. He was dozing off to sleep, but he wouldn't put his head down. It was the funniest thing watching his head bob around slowly, every now and then falling forward, before he snapped it back up. He just looked so very content and relaxed. Or drunk.

Achilles, did you get into your mama's Pinot Grigio?

What a sweet boy. He was afraid he'd 'miss something good' if he actually let himself fall asleep!

awww, this is so sweet. i love him. I don't blame him...laying in the sun and napping is one of my favorite things to do also.
My babies love to lay out on the chaise lounges....like they are waiting for a waiter or cabana boy to come with some treats or a misting perhaps.

He looks just like a sweet, old man...co much character & life in his face, loving, gentle and at peace. I'd love to hug him. You and Belov-Ed are providing such a wonderful life for those golden boys. You can see how happy they are in all of their pics. I hope that someone like you is there for all of us when we are old! God bless you!

Oh, he is beautiful and he looks so content!

I've been taking care of a service dog for a friend of mine that's been in the hospital and it's like she's been on vacation staying with us. I'd swear I actually catch her smiling sometimes!

They are simply the best, aren't they?

I can't get the video to work on my boot leg lap top but the pictures are so precious. He looks so good! His fur is so fluffy and soft. I miss your sweet face boys!
