Construction Under Way

TGIF! What a week. Work has been tremendously busy for both of us. It seems that by the time we plop down on our couches at the end of the day, it is is past 8 pm and we are exhausted. It is all I can do to get the boys their dinner and refill their water bowls. Then I collapse! Well, almost.

We nearly overslept by a whole hour this morning! But, we don't expect to be enjoying any extra sleep for the next couple of months because by 7:15 every morning we'll be hearing something along the lines of THIS:

Jeezaloo. The backyard looks like a tornado zone. Both of our fireplaces have come down now. They're prepping the gound for the pouring of the concrete foundation. Sweet. It's hard to imagine that all of this dirt and debris will eventually turn out our dream nook on Earth. I can't wait. The workers are really good and it's been nice getting to know them and about them. Sedero is the prankster and Oscar likes to tell stories. We like to chat it up. Gee, they sure did pick the wrong house for this project, huh? ;-)

Tomorrow is Day 3 of 3 of the pre-Cana requirements. Wish me luck. I hope to God I don't embarass us again by guffawing at an inappropriate moment. Sometimes I just can't help myself though. Boredom is a BITCH. I end up with restless leg syndrome and the need to fill in the vacant space around me with laughter. It is irresistible sometimes.

It will be a packed weekend for sure. Adriana had something come up and we're watchin Ally for her until Sunday. Achilles and Milo will be thrilled to have a girly-girl running visiting again. Tomorrow, they go to More Mommy's house for the day.

I've got to get Katie's hair blown out in the morning for her prom night. Exciting! Get Achilles & Milo down to Lynne's house. Then I have to attend the pre-Cana thinga-majiggy until the afternoon. Then I return to Lynne's to get Katie's make-up perfect for her big night and put finishing touches on the hair. Then I rush home and get ready to haul ass up to Orange County for the Golden Retriever Rescue Fundraiser at the Wine Artist . Tom & Laura will be there and it will be great to catch up. Haven't seen them since Wrigs' birthday party!

Sunday I am HOPING that I'll have it in me to hike Torrey Pines and then go to the Farmer's Market again. The rest of the day will be spent hauling crap from one end of the house to the other in preparation for the major league demolishing that is going to take place next week.

I'm getting myself psyched up for the next couple of days. Lots of activity, some fun and some so-so, but it feels good to be busy and alive. On Sunday I'm going to try and find some down time for myself and catch up with my Blogistani peeps. I've had wondeful comments made on my postings. I want to see what my peeps have been up to as well. Miss you all! :-)

Have a good weekend, even though it sounds like you will have little time to breathe. How exciting to see the yard coming along so quickly!

It's so nice to see this posting. The project looks exciting, and I'll bet it's REALLY exciting at 7 a.m., with the jackhammer-wake-up-call. Demolition is so rewarding, because you can see results so fast. The building process will be fun to see via your postings.
Have fun at pre-Cana; you seem to have a talent for finding fun anywhere you go.
God bless you!

Oh my gosh, you have been so busy...I am exhausted just reading it.
We did a major addition on our house about 5 years ago. I will have to post on this. Well, it was crazy every morning during the summer and on weekends too. those Men were SO loud. But we got through it...somehow.
