We need to talk

"Uhh, Mumma? You got a minute? I've been meaning to talk to you."

"In case you haven't noticed, I've been feeling a bit neglected as of late. I tell you, I am not happy about it. Not one bit. A travesty is what it is really. Harumph."

"Oh sure, you've rewarded me with treats for keeping Big Bro Sweetface company while he's been sick. I appreciated the rewards and would like to thank you."

"You've also made sure that I receive additional back rubs for taking the time to entertain my big brother. I am quite funny, as you already know, and I made sure to give Achilles a laugh or two per day. It's the best medicine you know."

"I even allowed you to take a picture of me in Daddy's Yankees ballcap, when you know full well that deep down inside I'd rather sport my CUBS colors like you let Achilles do. In return, you gave me some good scratching time for my having humored Daddy."

"Well, I just want you to know that I will no longer settle for mere treats and physical affection. No, I'm sorry, I have to put my paw down this time. Like More Mommy said, Achilles may be vestibular, but please remember that I am spectacular. At this time I would like to demand some special 'Mommy & Milo' alone time, you know like the special time and attention you've been giving Achilles. I am a very good boy. I have been a great bedside nurse for my big brother. I deserve some pampering and undivided attention, too."

"Please see above a picture of ME, your beloved Milo Bear. I know I look adorable. I know you know that I look adorable. It is time for you to demonstrate how adorable you really think I am. As I sleep, I will dream of the fantastic 'Mommy & Milo' adventure you will no doubt plan just for me."

"Don't let me down, Mumma. I've been a real good boy."

Yours truly,

Milo Bear Love-Love a.k.a Sir-Barks-a-Lot a.k.a. Oompa-Loompa

Woof!

Oh my gosh, he is the most adorable thing ever! Like a big soft teddy bear!

Having met Milo, I'm surprised he was so polite in his delivery. I know first hand how he can be a little demanding when it comes to attention. (Case in point: You and Ed putting flea meds on Achilles and me outside trying to occupy Milo from breaking down the door to get to you both.)

Are you sure you didn't edit out any "f bombs" on his part?

Seriously, poor Milo is clearly wasting away from lack of nutrition and love- Achilles gets the pizza crusts!

I am catching up- did not read my blog friends yesterday... I am so glad your weekend was a joy with your mom. Is it bad that I had to think who Edward was? (I think of him as Belov-Ed!)

Believe me, Milo actually surprised us with his proper behavior and polite delivery. The fact that he spoke with a British accent made it even more of a hoot. I better come up with a good plan for our special time together!

Engine: He is such a total bear! His fur actually grows straight out from his skin so it makes him kind of look like a porcupine-ish teddy bear. He says to tell Dudley “Hi”!

Amanda: Understandable how you’d be confused. You’d be even more flustered if you actually heard her saying his name. She has a thick accent and his name comes out sounding like
“Ed-oo-wu-arrrrd”. I have to stop myself from giggling each time.

But, that’s not as bad as my father insisting on calling him “Edgar” until he got his name right. Huh!?

Too true! I often feel guilty giving one or the other too much love while neglecting the other. Milo is the man!

I hope you have something really special planned for that poor, neglected boy!

Confession: I've lurked on your blog for a bit, too. I love your posts! Also found you via Laura's blog. I like to read other Southern California residents' blogs. It helps me learn about fun things to do, see, eat, etc. :-) Also, bonus points for the midwest connection, too, right? Being around other midwesterners makes me feel like less of a weirdo! :-)

Your dogs are absolutely beautiful. Their faces are about the sweetest faces I've ever seen. I'm such a sucker for dogs. I have two little dogs, and they're my favorite little souls in the whole world.
