My Chi-town gal pal moved back to Da Chi. She left me here in San Diego and look what I've gone and done....get engaged! Harumph. She better move back here soon. There's no tellin' what I may get myself into without her around to monitor me. I might even end up preggers!!! Ha ha ha!
Linnea has joined us in Blogistan and here she is:

I love that she has Jeff Samardija's blog noted. Ha!!! We talked tonight and she's coming to visit in late October/early November. I'll have to make sure Chaos is cleaned up in time for her visit. Hee hee. Her parents, the very cool Al and Peggy, are also going to be out here. Outstanding!
Laura is still in Greece and I'm itching for her to get back so I can hear all about it. It's been decades since I lived in Greece, so I'm dying to know what it's like now. Laura, where are you?! Hurry back!
Laura's friend teaches kindergarten in Chicago and she has also started a great blog:

My baby sis, S, has decided to become a teacher. This is after over a year of gut-wrenching debates within herself regarding her future career plans. For the past summer she's been beating herself up trying to decide whether she should take the DATs or LSATs. Of course, there is the societal and familial pressure that has its own set of expectations sure to render anxious the strongest soul. Poor thing.
She is razor sharp and bright, just graduated from Loyala and is a whiz at math and science. It would have been a natural progression for her to go into dentistry since she's been a dental assistant since high school, but she has come to acknowledge that her passions lie in the field of academics and teaching. My baby sister is going to be the hot biology teacher all the high school guys are going to be "dreaming" about.
I want to congratulate my beautiful baby sister on her very first teaching assignment. She is going to substitute freshman biology on Thursday. It'll only be for the day but it is still her very FIRST assignment! I am so proud of her that I'm crying as I'm typing. I love you, S!
I'm now secretly hoping she'll be lured to the seductive land of posts and start her own blog. I would love it!
Guess where the boys are? Yup. Milo sleeping at my feet to my left and Achilles to my right. I'm at our dining room table. Ed is lying on the couch watching the History Channel. I'll get ready for bed now and the "dog parade" will follow me into the bedroom and settle in for the night. A & M are tired puppies tonight. We went to visit briefly with Lynne and Amos tonight so A&M can get the lay of the land at their home. We wanted to introduce them to the house since they'll be staying there for the week we're vacationing back east. A&M loved it, of course. But, there is a steep hill to and from Lynne's house and the boys are definitely wiped out from the trek. They're actually snoring as they sleep and they rarely do that. It's so cute!
I love my laptop. It has given me so much more freedom. I'm going to surf the 'net now. Good night!

Girl! So many things I need to comment on! First and foremost, congratulations on your engagement!! The post actually had me teary eyed, as it brought back memories of my sister's wedding day. We sang that song to her ALL DAY, while we were getting ready at my parents' house. There's actually video of us (the bridesmaids) singing to her. It was a great day!
Thank you for the mention of my blog, and the link. You're so sweet. After your kind comments the other day, I was feeling a bit guilty for not checking on you recently (ya gotta admit, you were slackin' off there for a while!)
I hope your sister's first day of substituting went well today. Anytime she wants to come spend the day with me at school, she has an open invitation!
I'm sorry you and Ed aren't receiving more support from your mothers right now. Just remember, you always have the circle of love from your friends around you.
Finally, if you haven't checked my blog yet today, be sure to check, because I posted a picture of my crazy pooch. He looks like he could be distant relative to your crew, and Wrigley, for that matter!
I just posted over at your site! I love Buster!!!
